Lux and White Add to Viper SRT10 Legacy of Success

PUYALLUP, Wash., August 30, 2005 In only its first year running the American V10 supercar, NayKid Racing added to the storied history of Dodge's Viper SRT10 with drivers Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.). Dodge Motorsports and DaimlerChrysler's SRT Division will include two Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 titles on its trophy shelf following the 2005 season. The Northern Pacific Division and Southern Pacific Division trophies earned by Lux and White, respectively, will sit beside Viper-earned trophies for pacing the Indianapolis 500, and winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans and numerous American Le Mans titles and SCCA World Challenge titles. “I would probably say this year's titles means more to me than past ones,” remarked Lux who includes an American Le Mans Series-sanctioned title on her resume. “Since I began my racing career in a Dodge product some 18 years ago, it's pretty incredible to now be able to wheel one of these awesome cars to the front and grab a championship along the way. Dodge has so much tradition and heritage in so many forms of motorsports; it's just an honor to be driving one of their products. You know what is cool? This company and employees truly believes in their product and that is something you don't see everyday in the automotive world. These folks just flat out get it and their cars show it!!Piloting matching KUMHO Tires/ Dodge Motorsports/ SRT/ Mopar Performance Parts/ Forgeline Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust/ Moton Shocks Dodge Viper SRT10s, NayKid Racing won a total of seven victories this season. Lux, who earned her third NorPac title in 2005, won twice, earned five second place finishes, two pole positions and one track record, in the No. 78 Viper SRT10's debut season in T1 while White won the Southern Pacific champion winning five races, finished second four times, took five poles, and set two track records in his No. 3 Viper. The first-year success also gives Dodge and its Dodge Motorsports Division their first-ever T1 title for the Viper SRT10. The 2005 success brings NayKid Racing's T1 Divisional Championship count to an impressive ten since its 1999 founding. “SRT stands for Street and Racing Technology,” offered Mirko Kerschbaum, Manager SRT Product Planning and Marketing, about the reasons for joining with NayKid Racing to launch the Viper SRT10 T1 program. “Whatever we learn from the racing' side of our business we try to use for the street' side as well. In every area we can use the racing knowledge for our street SRT products. The other side is the emotion that racing creates. It's an extreme sport that people enjoy to watch and participate in. We want our customers to experience some of this feeling' when they drive one of our SRT products”“Switching from Corvettes to Vipers was a big step for NayKid Racing this season,” said Rudy Consolacion, KUMHO's motorsports manager. “The fact that Cindi and Scotty were able to repeat as T1 divisional champions with all new cars is a testament to the team, the cars and the drivers. We're looking forward to the Runoffs and to working with NayKid and Dodge next season as they continue developing the Vipers.”NayKid Racing will close out the 2005 season at the annual SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on September 23rd. In preparation, the Northwest-based team traveled east to compete at the Buckeye Sprint Nationals at Mid-Ohio in August. White won the pole position and would finish second while Lux had a nose to tail battle the entire race to finish fourth. The success at Mid-Ohio highlighted the 15 race season that stretched from tracks in California to Colorado, Oregon to Wisconsin and New York state. “It's been a crazy ride, a lot crazier than most years,” said the enthusiastic White whose entries have dominated SCCA Solo and T1 competition in recent years. “Man, I love this Hot Rod! What a battle it's been this season; new cars that haven't been raced yet, political battles on rules and toss in two big crashes and an injured driver whew! I'm glad it's all behind us now and we can focus solely on standin' on the gas! It was a battle down to the wire for the SOPAC T1 Championship, but we picked up momentum and speed at just the right time. I can't wait for Runoffs to showcase these Dodge Viper hot rods!”"The team's hard work and the great partnership between NayKid and SRT pays off" concluded Kerschbaum. "We are proud to see our Viper out there showing the competition how a Viper's bite feels."To learn more about NayKid Racing, please visit www.NayKidRacing.com.
